testing mini coldfusion feed app

This is a test post. I am trying to get a mini widget to embed into my blog entry. I made it at yourminis.com.

Update: I think I see why it isn't working and am sending a note to yourminis.com. Looks like they didn't URL encode the RSS feed, and my feed is from yahoo pipes which has url variables as well.

Tech Changes

The blog was up and down a bit today as I moved it over to a dedicated machine. This new server is going to house a number of test projects and personal projects of mine. I have worked pretty much all Friday night and Saturday, but it was worth it (I hope!).

Some changes I made where to install BlueDragon instead of CFMX. CFMX is just too expensive for my test/personal machine. I can't justify it. BlueDragon runs ColdFusion code and has a Free version for non commercial use.

http://www.newatlanta.com are the makers of BlueDragon and are nice people. I had originally installed ColdFusion 7 Enterprise, but realised the license I had was only for dev work, and didn't allow the type of site. It only took 45 minutes or so to remove CFMX and install BlueDragon and completely reconfigure. Much better than I expected. So far no code changes needed either.

I also upgraded to the latest version of blogCFC. (software that powers this blog) Thanks Ray! (his link is down at the bottom of the blog). It doesn't have a wysiwyg editor for making posts, so I need to add that back in (so I can properly link again). Lots of new features for commenters, cross post linking, etc.

This is the first post.

This is the first post of my new blog. I will migrate some information / photos from my old site, but for the most part this is a new project and will be treated as such.

Special thanks to Ray Camden for providing BlogCFC, which powers this blog.

Hello world.
