RIAdventure 360 Cruise weeks away

Just thought I would post a little checklist of things to consider for the upcoming cruise/event.

I am REALLY looking forward to this.  Both from a vacation standpoint as well as a great learning/networking opportunity.  We have some very smart people on the ship.

  • Bring Passport!
  • Comfortable walking shoes.  You will do lots of walking for excursions potentially.
  • Swim gear.
  • Check out the excursions ahead of time.  Some excursions have limited capasity and sell out early, others you can easily book while on the ship.  Take a look at your options and maybe book ahead of time with your friends.
  • Pack light.  You may want to have room in your bag(s) to bring something back.  The rooms are small so try not to bring more than you need.
  • Use the stairs on the ship.  You will probably be eating and drinking more then normal.  If you force yourself to use the stairs instead of elevators you can help at least burn off a few of those extra calories.  Plus it gets you there in same amount of time (elevators are slow).
  • Bring a camera.
  • Phone/Internet is not likely.  Be prepared and let others know before you go.  You can use computer terminals in the ship to access the internet for a fee, but you wont be doing it all that much.
  • Bring nice clothes for dinner.  Some restaurants require business casual attire, others are shorts/t-shirt.  Bring both so you have options.
  • Bring a backpack.  It will be handy for your excursions.
  • Use the hand sanatizer whenever presented.  They have it all over and its best to be healthy.
  • Almost everyone will be staying at the same hotel the night before the cruise.
  • We will have a kick off party the first day when the boat launches.

Greg Burch's Gravatar I am going to be cabbing to the pier approx 15min away. The "hotel transfer" is a rip-off usually. If anyone wants to share a van or something I am open to that. Otherwise I recommend the cab if you can.
