RIA, WOW and a Contest!
Its time to hold a contest! One winner, and anyone can participate. All to promote my RIAdventure cruise this February. (social cruise for CF/Flex/AIR geeks and family from Miami to Bahamas)
What is the prize you ask?
A World of Warcraft account (created but not played) with ~ 80 days of prepaid time. Yup, the game and about 3 months of prepaid time! It includes the original game as well as the Burning Crusade addition. If you show up on my server I will even help you get started. :-)
If you ever wanted to see what the hubbub is about, this is a good chance to do so. I have created the account for you and added the play time, you just need to download the client software (free download) and enter the user/pass I give you and away you go.
Note, this account is already created, so you can't use it for the Zevrah mount.
How do you enter?
Option A:
Every person who posts a comment on this blog post will get one entry. The comment has to contain 2 things. Yes you must do BOTH to qualify. (plus post your name and valid email though the email wont show).
1) List your top reason someone should go to RIAdventure.
2) List your top reason you want to try out WOW (world of warcraft).
Option B:
You can get a second entry (for a total of two possible entries) if you blog about the contest and post your answers to the two questions above in your blog post and then link back to this post. You must comment here with a link to that blog post so I have a way of knowing about it.
Details:
The contest ends on midnight September 30th. No comments or blog posts past midnight on September 30th will count. I will contact the winner and post about it the day after.
I will select the winner randomly. Each entry will get a ticket (so some of you may get two tickets if you blog about it) and I will select a random ticket from a bucket or hat or something.
Note that while there is 90 days of prepaid time, it will be closer to 82 days at end of contest because I stupidly added the time now instead of waiting till the contest is done, so play time is sorta burning. :-)
Final note: I moderate my comments, so if you don't see it right away, don't enter again I just need to approve them. Spam sucks.

1) It's a cruise forgoshsakes! Plus it's a chance to have hang time with some of the top minds in ColdFusion programming.
2) I used to play WoW about 2 years ago, but got bored with it as I had done almost all the content out at that time. Since then they've released at least 2 major improvements, loads of new content, and changed gameplay in ways which would make me not even recognize it (I'm sure). I'd love to give it another go.
1. Because it's freakin' cold in February in New England.
2. Because I've never tried crack, and I figure the digital variety is safer.

2) I have 2 70's so starting a new toon won't happen but if Josh has this cause he got the freaking Zhevra Mount then I'm going to do the same thing, lol
2) Because my cousin wants to play on a *real* server and this would get him started out great! (I play on a free server and its good enough for me with my limited time, but he wants to be a purist)

My top reason to try out WOW... All the "cool kids" are doing it... and I'm just a lemming.
