Portsmouth NH Named Top 5 Weekend Getaway on TodayShow

A friend let me know that there was a quick segment of inexpensive weekend getaways on the Today Show. They had guest Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel list 5 (I think) destinations including Austin, Texas, Orlando (inexpensive?), and our very own Portsmouth, NH.

Portsmouth is a great place and contrary to what some may feel in town, it is still pretty inexpensive compared to all that it offers.

Sadly, many of the photos they showed during the segment were actually just outside of Portsmouth, not much of downtown. But hey, we have a bit of fame.

Also, Samantha Brown is from Portsmouth, or at least the area.

Looking at her site, it seems there is a show on the Travel Channel about her coming back to the seacoast.Airs Thursday, July 24 New Hampshire "Seacoast" Weekend "Sam heads back to where she grew up to visit family, friends and some old haunts."

She was filming outside our office in Market Square a few months ago, possibly for that very show. I wonder if they got a shot of all of us staring out the window. :D
