Warcraft Blog Aggregator (list of wow blogs)
I launched a new site this weekend. It is a WOW blog aggregator. What is a blog aggregator? It is a huge list of warcraft blogs compiled into one master RSS feed. So you can visit one site or subscribe to one feed to get a quick rundown on up to the minute blog posts relating to World of Warcraft. It is updated every 15 minutes or so, and right now I have around 150 blogs. That number will grow over time.
A few notes. I have taken care to make sure I am not pulling traffic from others. These blog entries are only very short teasers, with full and clear links to the actual blog owner and full entry. The entries are also not indexed by Google and such, so there is no issue regarding page rank and SEO.
So far I have received kind words from some WOW bloggers, and some requests to be added. I am still looking for more blogs and am also looking for feedback. Is my site confusing? Anything else I am missing?
Some Cool Features:
- You can create alerts for certain topics by creating a profile. These alerts are emailed to you.
- You can see a full list of every blog I aggregate here. You can also see what traffic I am sending to each blog by looking up their name. Right now not much as its a new site.
- I have badges. If you are aggregated by me you can show it off.
- There is a stats page which shows hot activity in the last 24 hours.
On a technical note, this is built using ColdFusion and I am using code generously offered by Ray Camden. I made some changes to the admin to make adding new feeds even easier (it was pretty easy already) so if anyone is using the same code let me know and I will send the update along. I also sent it back to Ray for his review.

I found that was my biggest challenge with cfblogs.com since I wanted to be able to search against all blog content and not just the most recently posted content.
Again, great looking site. Congratulations!
