Anyone in ColdFusion land using Amazons S3 service for their apps?  Were you affected by the reported downtime today?

I have seen comments that the downtime was a few hours and others that it was only a few minutes (from Twitter).  Seems like a great service, but in thinking of the downtime today it got me wondering how one would go from using S3 to transitioning to another cloud or perhaps a local storage system.

Obviously I know little about S3 and haven't used it, so any light people can shed would be helpful to me and probably others regarding stability and ease of migration.
