Low Republican Turnout an Understatement

In watching the news last night I saw a ticker on the bottom of the screen regarding the Washington DC primary results.  It showed some very low numbers for the Republican primary and I thought it must be a mistake.  After checking CNN this morning the numbers seem to be accurate.  Are there really that few Republicans in D.C.?

I know that many feel McCain has this already set and as such maybe no reason to even bother, but Huckabe only got 961 votes.  You would think more than 961 people would want to see him win.  After doing a bit of research it seems you must be registered as Republican for the DC primary to participate, which would help explain.  Still...

On the plus side Obama continues to do well.  Both he and Clinton are taking sections of Edwards speeches and using them now, which I find interesting.

There are tons of Republicans in D.C. They just can't come out in daylight.
