Contract Work Available - Interested?
I was about to just post the blog entry below when a thought occurred to me. Is there a bidding system out their for CFML projects? Meaning if I have a simple 'take this design and build out a 15 page site using our cms' project, is there a place to post that project and get people to make offers for price and such?
Would there be interest in our happy little CF community for something like that?
Update: I found this site, however it brings up an issue of trustability. I was just thinking of maybe making this kind of invite only. Trusted developers resource to help eachother, so that there is no issue of trust and experience.
Basically there can be a large pool of known and trusted contractors/freelancers/companies that can log in and see whats available and pick up a project for an agreed price. It would be password protected, and invite only, or the applicants would be vetted by peers or something. Thoughts?
Original Post (still valid)
We are growing and as such need some help doing production work, and light to moderate ColdFusion development. Typically a client comes to us and asks us to do one of three things.
- Sell them a license
- Sell them a license and convert their existing site to use our CMS
- Sell them a license and develop a new site at the same time.
We are doing pretty well with the licenses and doing new graphic design, but are looking for a few options regarding converting existing sites to our CMS or taking our new designs and creating the html and templates.
So, if you are interested please contact me directly with some information about yourself.
Most of the time you would be asked to do the following:
- Install Savvy CM
- Cut up graphics we give you and put into HTML or clean clients old site and prep for templates
- Create Templates and CSS (good clean code please)
- Basic forms and some light CF custom code
- Testing
What you don't have to worry about:
- Selling Anything
- Graphic Design
- Getting Paid
We typically do this on a fixed price basis, depending on the scope of the job. Ideally we will have a few new contractors to work with. To learn more about how the CMS works, and the install/templating process check out this hour long video that takes you through the entire process.
Send me an email at jcyr @ besavvy.com for more information and beware that I may not replay right away as we are also about to release beta of version 4.5.

Indeed, I started the group. :-) However I don't think people get emails in the group when new posts are made. At least I can't seem to get it to send me emails, so I figured I would post this to a potentially larger audience.
I still think there is merit in the private contract area.
