Videos of my CMS

I know that a lot of my blog readers don't really know what I do for a living and for those of you that are non-technical in nature my descriptions probably sound like gibberish.  I work for Savvy Software and am the lead developer for our main product Savvy Content Manager.  We just posted 30 short videos demonstrating some of the functionality of the CMS.  This is not a complete review of the product, but it should give some of you an idea for what it is I have been working on in general.  All powered by ColdFusion of course.

Our CMS has been doing quite well lately.  We get constant search traffic from schools, municipalities, and companies of all sizes.  It isn't unusual for one of us to talk to the likes of Disney and CareerBuilder in the same day.  I can't wait to talk to our latest customers that are going to CFUnited and network with some of my fellow CF friends.

On a side note we made the videos with Adobe Captivate and it was really quite easy.  The software is certainly worth the price and there are plans on doing follow up videos regarding template creation, installation, etc.

What are your thoughts about fckEditor?
I hear that it's going to be in Scorpio.

Good question. I use FCK for my blog editor. So far it has worked pretty well. Savvy uses KTML which is owned by Adobe but dead as a product. Why they didn't open it up and use it for Scorpio is unclear to me, but I am going to the CFUG group meeting in Boston tonight so maybe I can ask one of the engineers. The big question is what editor will Savvy use in the long term. I have yet to start that eval process.

In talking to the engineers they reminded me they have been working on this for 2 years. Basically FCK was already in there long before Interakt was bought by adobe. So though Adobe owns KTML now, it is too late to put into CF and FCK has a strong support base. Makes sense now. :-)
