At flex camp (which was great) last Friday I ran into a few people who live in the Seacoast of New Hampshire (or on the border in Main and Massachusetts) and do ColdFusion development.  It is always nice to meet new CF people and it surprised me that there were so many I hadn't known about right here in my back yard.  If I had been thinking I would have gotten your business cards so we could continue to network later.

So this is a quick call to all you CF'ers.  How many of you are out there and in the Seacoast area?  Would it make sense to try to organize a CF meet 'n drink some night to all get together say hi and so forth?  I am all about organizing stuff like that if enough people would be interested.

I know not all CF developers read CF blogs, so pass the word along if you know someone in the area.

As a side note, there is the Boston CFUG group for monthly meetings.  Brian does a great job and I recommend anyone able to go should check it out. However I suspect it is a bit too much of a drive for many people up here to do regularly.  There is also an Adobe group at UNH, though that doesn't seem to deal with CF that I can tell and it is scheduled for the middle of the day. I am putting it on my check out list as maybe this is a good solution and I am always interested in a break some days.  The Maine group looks to be focused on Flash and is up in Camden, which is a bit too far for this area as well.

I think we talked Friday. I rode down on the bus from Manchester.

I think that would be a great idea to meet up.

Well, I didn't go to Flex camp (I am still searching for the reason why), but I am a CF/Flash/Flex Developer in the Portland(ME) area. I have been wanting to start an AUG in this area for a while, because Camden is to far for me as well. Portsmouth is closer... It would be cool to get together with some other CF Developers, because I think I am the only one here.

Count me in, Josh! Perhaps welcoming in Flex people as well, since Flex and CF are the new peanut butter and chocolate (if you're into that sort of thing.)

Hey Josh. I met Ken the other day through a mutual friend and he tipped me off to this post. Anyway, I've been doing CF development for about 10 years in various parts of Maine and NH, but now I'm based out of Portsmouth. Just let me know where and when and I'll be there.

Looks like we have a small group going now. Good news. Let me plan for something next month then. I will comment here and also make a new post in the blog. I was thinking something in the evening at a local bar for more of a meet n greet instead of a formal discussion. Any feedback / thoughts, let me know.

Hi Josh,

I work at UNH as a CF programmer and would be interested in meeting up with other people. Have you set a time or day for a meet up?

Hi Mike, thanks for the reminder!

No date and time yet. I am thinking of a week day. Maybe the Thursday 24th at 6?

I am looking to hire a full time contractor (40hrs + a week) to work in Flex and hopefully C#. This is a REMOTE - AT HOME position. I am looking locally but really anywhere will work. I live in Stratham, NH. Please reply to my yahoo account (because of spam) essuark[at]yahoo(dot)com. You need to be good, dedicated, honest and I will put you to works for many months. I am setting up a site to help organize it all. Feel free to sign up. I am also requesting that adobe see us as an official group. I have sent the request and gotten the blessing of nearby other Adobe groups. I will let you know what happens.

Also, the meeting date listed there is only temporary till we figure out what we really want to do as a schedule.
